Join us for a Friday evening on the water, paddling around Lacamas and Round Lake with some good company. This is open to all our Mountain Tops athletes, volunteers, and anybody looking to get out on the water. Bring snacks and bevies of your choice!

🚣 Let us know if you need to borrow a kayak or paddle board or if you'll bring your own!

Mountain Tops BBQ Potluck party

meet: at Josiah's house (not the lodge)

   Address: 2701 ne 259th ave, camas

On Thursday, July 23rd, we will skip our walk/class and meet at Josiah's house instead for an afternoon celebrating all our friends at Mountain Tops! Parents and volunteers are encouraged to join and hangout as well! 

🌭 Josiah's family will grill some food for us, but please let Kiley or Debbie know if you can bring a side dish or dessert to share.

💦 They have a pool! Bring a swimsuit and towel if you'd like to jump in and enjoy the water.

🏀 There will be activities, like basketball and music to dance to, as well as some adorable animals to hangout with. 

RSVP on the Booking Calendar ASAP so we can let Josiah's family know how many to expect! 

CAMPING at METZLER PARK, OR

DATES: Friday, July 31 TO SUNDAY, AUGUST 2
time: 12pm on Friday to 12pm on Sunday
meet: at the lacamas lake lodge

We are headed back to Metzler Park in Oregon, this time for 2 nights! We will arrive Friday afternoon, work together to set up our campsites, and enjoy being outside together that evening and all of Saturday, before heading back to Camas on Sunday. We will have access to a basketball court, easy hiking trails, a shallow river, and lots of time in nature. There are private showers and bathrooms available as well! We will provide food for meals and snacks, water, and some electrolyte options too. We are so excited to go back to this wonderful campground!

⛺️ Let us know if you need to borrow a sleeping pad, sleeping bag, or any other necessary sleeping gear!

Silver Star

This hike is rated hard, so preparation is critical to enjoy this exciting summit and panoramic views of our local Cascade peaks. 

📅 DATE: Sunday, July 19
🕣 HIKING time: 8:30 am (4-4.5 hours)
📍meet: at GROUSE VISTA trailhead at 8:20am
or lodge for carpool at 7:20am

​* Please carefully read the preparation and hike details for this hike.   The better prepared you are, the better experience for everyone. If you are new to hiking or this hiking group, please reach out and let us know to help you prepare.

Register on the Booking Calendar at least 24 hours in advance!

Hike Details and Preparation

  • Hike is approx. 6.5 miles with 2129 ft elevation gain. This hard hike will take about 4-4.5 hours.  There are areas of steep climbing and loose rock, and we will go slow and steady to the summit.

  • Please sign up 24 hours prior to departure

  • Meet at the Grouse Vista trailhead at 8:20am or, meet at Lacamas Lodge at 7:20am if you want to carpool, with a prompt departure at 7:30am

  • Bring DISCOVER Pass if you are driving yourself. We will begin hiking at 8:30am

  • Restrooms at the trailhead

  • Bring LOTS of water, electrolytes and snacks

  • Wear good hiking shoes.  

  • Bring hiking poles if you prefer

  • Wear bug spray

  • Cell service is always spotty in the mountains

  • It's recommended to be prepared with the                                      10 hiking essentials at any time you are hiking.​

Driving Directions from Portland/Vancouver

to Grouse Vista Trailhead
 

Take WA-14 East to Washougal. Turn left on Washougal River Road, then left on NE Hughes Road. Continue straight as the road naturally transitions into Miller, then 39th Street. Turn left onto NE 412th (Skamania Mines Road), left onto DNR road 1200, and follow it 5.7 miles to the trailhead
