What is Mountain Tops?
Mountain Tops is a program designed to build confidence, camaraderie and various movement skills for those with physical, mental and/or emotional developmental disabilities.
This program is open to adults and young adults at least 18 years old who are looking to have some fun while improving their fitness and energy levels through a variety of different workouts and events.
Mountain Tops works with the Washington Development Disabilities Association in providing short-term care to those with respite. Contact me in the form below to find out how we can get started!

The Story Behind Mountain Tops
It all started with a question…
“Are you interested in teaching a fitness class for young adults with developmental disabilities?”
After a chilly workout session in December 2021, two Pacific Peaks members asked Kiley if she had ever considered teaching fitness classes for those in our community who have developmental disabilities. The members were looking for a program for their children, who had graduated high school and could no longer access local in-school programs. After searching for a young adult workout class to no avail, they considered going to the source of their fitness: Pacific Peaks, and more specifically, Kiley Hauck.
At first, the idea of starting a program like this was a bit overwhelming! The idea was daunting. It was something Kiley had never considered before, or even knew was an option she could offer. But despite her fear, Kiley said she would see what she could do. And so she did.
The more she learned about running a program for neurodivergent people, the more she knew she had to. All aspects of creating this program fit perfectly with what she values most in life: being inclusive, and being able to reach different parts of our community that aren’t always included.
After doing some research and working with the state to provide respite, Kiley was ready to start the program. She was nervous. This idea was brand new, but she wouldn’t let imposter syndrome get in the way of her passion. Mountain Tops opened its doors in March of 2022. The first class was small, with only five athletes, a single volunteer (shoutout to Julie), and Kiley as the lead.
After that first class, Kiley felt the nerves shake off a little bit. Then a little bit more the week after that. Eventually, Kiley got into a routine, and realized that, rather than feeling nervous, she was ecstatic for Tuesday afternoons to roll around!
“It felt like it was filling a bucket I didn’t even know needed to be filled; it felt like I was learning a lot from these athletes in terms of how to be genuine and authentic and how to bring my whole self to each day” -Kiley
Mountain Tops slowly started to grow over the course of two years. Now, over 40 athletes have attended, including the original five! We’ve progressed to two classes each week! Kiley is still looking for ways to grow and get more time with these individuals who have touched her life in a way that no other class has.
Mountain Tops, just like its big sister Pacific Peaks, has always been about the people. This program isn’t just about fitness; it’s about nurturing a community where everyone can learn and grow from each other- athletes, volunteers, and instructors alike.
